I often say, “When in doubt, wear red and throw a party!” And this is exactly what The Wardrobe intends to do this holiday season.

Join us for The Wardrobe’s 2nd Friday ArtAbout Holiday Party and the debut of “Dress in Red”–a collection of red dresses designed and sewn as a final project by UC Davis textile and design students.

The exhibit features an interactive display of UC Davis student designed red dresses. A combination of interview clips and a Red Dress slide show will be presented. The Red Dress book will also be available for sale at The Wardrobe. All proceeds will be given to UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program.

This dazzling showcase of dresses will be on display to inspire greater awareness around the importance of supporting Women’s Heart Health and National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 3, 2017.

As part of a unique partnership between the UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program and the UC Davis Department of Design, fashion design students create a collection of red dresses to raise awareness that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women. Each year in February, new designs are unveiled at the UC Davis Women’s Heart Care Education and Awareness Forum, held in Sacramento during National Heart Month.

Each dress represents one student’s individual design aesthetic and personality. The program’s goal is to raise awareness that heart disease is the leading killer of women and help eliminate it through education and by encouraging a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Dresses are on display at the following downtown locations:

• The Wardrobe, 206 E St., Davis CA 95616
• 204 E St., Davis CA 95616
• 623 2nd St., Davis CA 95616

The Red Dress book is for sale at Wardrobe for $20. (Check payable to UC Regents)
