Fashion For Thought May 2014

“May The Style Muses Be With You!”

“May the Style Muses be With You” is an expression that I came up with last summer while working on The Wardrobe’s 25th anniversary Beauty and the Beats Fashion Show. Hope you can visit our YouTube channel to see highlights of some of our favorite spring/summer special occasion wear.

This month’s photo features Laurie Treacher who is the epitome of a Style Muse.

So what is a Style Muse? My best way of defining a style muse is someone who has a great sense of style because they have truly aligned with their truest self!

Individual style has been at the forefront of The Wardrobe’s style philosophy and The Wardrobe is excited to continue to play a colorful role in the lives of our daring fashionistas.

Check out The Wardrobe’s
very own Global Beats spring collection created by former Style Girl team member and UC Davis design school graduate Courtney Siperstein-Cook. “Designing and developing a line for The Wardrobe was a great peak into the inner-workings of retail production, and designing for customers. I hope visitors to The Wardrobe enjoy the pieces as much as we enjoyed creating them.” Many thanks to Steve Barraza of Tianello who helped mentor Courtney’s debut Boutique collection for us.

We are excited to be featuring a Tianello Trunk Show Saturday, June 14th from noon to five pm. Brianna Barraza will be showcasing Tianello’s summer collection and offering a free scarf with every purchase. The Wardrobe is also excited to be featuring Brianna’s imaginative acrylic paintings during the month of June debuting for our 2nd Friday.

In the Sacramento Valley today is considered The Day of Giving. It’s an opportunity to support your favorite local non-profits. We’re excited to have raised $1,500 for Project Pink. Thank you to the Gately Foundation for their generous gift of $1,000. And, thank you Bernie Mev. for agreeing to match The Wardrobe’s donations. We hope you can “Walk a Mile in Ann’s Shoes” this month. Help us sell 40 pairs or more to meet our goal of $2,000!

Ann was a shining star in the community and in the lives of those around her. To learn more about our local heroine, visit the iSeeDavis video. We also encourage you to make a donation for Project Pink here at The Wardrobe.

The art of being true is the art of becoming you! I am available this spring for complimentary style service time on Wednesdays and Fridays between 3 and 6 pm. Please always call for an appointment in advance. Enjoy Mother’s Day and may beauty continue to be your muse.

Colorfully yours,
Heather Caswell
